Mrs. Meta D. Walter, wife of Hugh A. Walter, 2816 Sunnyside avenue, died at 8 a.m. Sunday at Mercy hospital after a serious illness of 2 weeks. She was a life resident of Burlington. Born Oct. 1, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Wegener, she was married Nov. 5, 1902. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran church and the ladies' aid society of the church. Surviving besides her husband are 2 sons, Maurice C. Walter, San Bernardino, Cal., and Hugh G. Walter, Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. O.K. Stafford, Chicago, ill.; 3 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. T.C. Holstein, Omaha, Neb. Her parents and one brother are dead. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home with Dr. R. R. Belter officiating.
