Obituary
Rev. Dr. JA Boatman, a resident of Burlington for the last two years, a retired minister of the Methodist Episcopal church and for many years a prominent member of the Iowa Conference, passed away at his home at 704 South Central avenue, this morning at 7:50.
Dr. Boatman’s illness dates from last Friday afternoon when a complication of diseases set in and his illness was characterized by much distress and pain, which he bore bravely.
His daughter, Mrs. Robert Boatman of Louisiana, Mo., with her husband and little son, reached his bedside Thursday morning. Dr. OW Boatman, formerly of Burlington but now of Phillipsburg, Ky., is a son of the deceased and is expected to arrive in Burlington tomorrow morning.
Rev. Mr. Boatman is survived by his wife and son and daughter. The funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:20 o’clock from the Grace ME Church. Many ministers of the Iowa conference will be in attendance and ministers will act as pallbearers. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
