Obituary
Mrs. Johanna C. Bloomquist died at 6:30 this morning at Mercy hospital of pneumonia after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bloomquist was taken to the hospital on March 12 from her home, No 207 South Adams street. Despite all the medical skill and nursing could do, she gradually sank away until death came this morning. The deceased is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Alma Yewell, a music teacher, and three brothers, Jno Schutz of Mt. Pleasant, Andrew Schutz of Salina, Iowa, and Adolf Schutz of Beloit, Kan.
Mrs. Bloomquist was born in Sweden and came to America with her parents at an early age. She was married in Burlington to August Bloomquist and had made her home here for many years. She was a woman of many rate qualities of heart and mind and was an earnest Christian, having been a member of the Congregational church since girlhood. She was 66 years old on February 15. The funeral will be held on Tuesday afternoon at the Congregational church.
