Dr. Ida J. Walker, well known local osteopath, died at 6 o'clock this morning at her home, 102 South Marshall, after four months illness. Ida Jane Pinney was born in Memphis, Mo., and married there Nov. 12, 1899 to J.N. Walker, who later also became an osteopath, the two practicing together here, since they came here in 1901, the year she graduated from the S.S. Still college of Osteopathy in Des Moiines. Mrs. Walker was a direct descendant of Mathew Grant of Windsor, Connecticut, well known pioneer family, and was a member of the Grant family association. She was a member of First M.E. church, the Stars and Stripes chapter of the D.A.R., and the American Osteopathic association. Besides her husband, Dr. J.N. Walker, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Helen G. Lord of Burlington; two brothers, William Pinney of Bosworth, Mo., and Edward Pinney of Long Beach, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Cundiff, Miami, Mo., and Miss Celia Pinney of Slater, Mo., and one granddaughter, Jane Lord of Burlington. The body was taken to the Burnett-Wallen funeal home pending funeral attangements.
