Obituary
William H. Walker, 63, of 1260 S. Main street, Burlington Route passenger train brakeman and railroad employe for more that 40 years, died suddenly at Hotel Pullman in Omaha, Neb., last night. Mr. Walker, who was due home on the Zephyr this morning, left yesterday on No. 7, on the Burlington-Omaha run on which he had been for years. Death was believed due to a heart attack. A resident here for more than 40 years, he was born March 28, 1877, in Lucas county, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Esther Walker. He and Miss Julia Etta Walker were married here Sept. 30, 1908. He was a member of Des Moines Masonic lodge No. 1, Elks lodge and of the Brotherhood of Railway Conductors. Surviving are his widow; a brother, Charles Walker of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. Alice Mils of Russell, Ia., and a grandson. His first wife preceded him in death. Services will be held from Prugh's chapel Thursday morning at 9:30. Masonic services will be held at the grave in Aspen Grove cemetery.
