Mrs. Amelia Walker, 72, widow of Adam Walker, and life resident of Burlington , died at Burlington hospital at 8:30 last night following an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Walker was born in Burlington, June 7, 1859, the daughter of Frederick and Anna Leicht. Her father was for many years sexton of Aspen Grove cemetery. She was married to Mr. Walker Oct. 28, 1877. Mr. Walker preceded his wife in death 19 years ago. Mrs. Walker was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the Hawkeye Natives auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank Hellenthal and Mrs. Wallace Hunger of Burlington, and Mrs. Guy Van Winkle of Casper, Wyo.; three sons, Harry H. and Frank J. of Burlington, and Chester D. of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. George Hassman of Ft. Madison; four brothers, John, Pete, Fran and George Leicht, all of Burlington; 20 grandchildren and three great grand children. One son, Ralph, died at the age of three. Mrs. Walker made her home with her brother, John Leicht, 822 Sycamore street. The body was taken to Unterkircher's funeral home where it will remain until funeral arrangements are completed.
