Peter C. Bloom, formerly of West Burlington, where he was for many years employed as a foreman in the Burlington railroad shops, died on Tuesday at the home of his son, Clifton Bloom of La Crosse, Wis., where he had been spending the past year.
Mr. Bloom had been an employee of the Burlington railroad for over forty years. After leaving West Burlington shops, he went to Aurora, Ill., where he held a responsible position in the company’s shops.
He is survived by two sons, Clifton, of LaCrosse, Wis., and Leslie, of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Florence Roberts, of Pocatello, Idaho, and seven grandchildren. He was a member of the Masonic order, being a thirty-second degree Mason, and of the Knights of Pythias lodge of West Burlington, as well as belonging to the Court of Honor.
The remains will be brought to Burlington Thursday and will be at Prugh’s chapel until taken to the Masonic Temple, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon, in charge of the Masonic lodge, with Knight Templar escort. Friends are invited to the services. Burial will be at Aspen Grove Cemetery.
