Obituary

May E. Waldin, 98, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, March 11, at St. Francis Continuation Care Center, where she had lived since 1970. She was born here May 27, 1880 in Burlington, the daughter of Charles and Emma Biesenbruck Waldin. A retired kindergarten teacher, she was with the Burlington school system for more than 30 years. She had been a member of First United Presbyterian church since 1895,and was the oldest member of the church. She served as superintendent of the primary department of the church Sunday School for many years, and was a member of the Women's Assn. of the church and of the National Retired Teachers Assn. Survivors include two nephews, Dr. Donald S. Friedman and Warren W. Friedman, both of Burlington. Graveside service, 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aspen Grove cemetery, Rev. Clifford H. Haskins. The body is at Prugh's chapel.
