Lola Waite, 96, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at the home of her niece, Barbara Waite Davidson, 410 North St., with whom she had lived for many years. Miss Waite was born Aug. 29, 1877, to J.L. and Letitia Caroline Williams Waite. She was a member of First United Methodist church, and of Utile Ten circle of King's Daughters. She had held state and national offices in the King's Daughters; had written a history of the Iowa branch of the organization; and had edited The Silver Cross, a KD publication. She had played in the former Schramm orchestra and had been a member of the YMCA and its board and of Burlington Golf club., Burlington Hospital Aid society, and Burlington Music club. She had served on the old Burlington Social Service board. Surviving: The niece and a nephew, William W. Davidson, San Francisco. Funeral: Prugh's Chapel, 10:30 Monday, Rev. Leroy Moore; Aspen Grove cemetery.
