Eleanor Gertrude Clark, 92, of Burlington, died at 7:09 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Blair Nursing & Rehab Center in Burlington. Born January 18, 1916, in Burlington, she was the daughter of George Martin and Bertha Schmicker. On August 9, 1941, she married Junius M. "Jim" Clark. He died March 8, 2004. Mrs. Clark worked as a beautician at the Curly Inn, and as a housekeeper at Burlington Medical Center. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in West Burlington. She enjoyed church services and used a calendar in the kitchen as a diary to record weather conditions and daily events. She was a member of a card club for more than 40 years. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Stafford of West Burlington and Judith Miller of Danville, IL; two sons, Thomas Clark of Littleton, CO, and James Clark of Covington, GA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one sister, Phyllis Hobby of Burlington. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Clark will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Steinle officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
