Mrs. Dorothea Schmicker, 87, of 2205 Osborn died 9 a.m. Monday at St. Francis hospital after a long illness. She was born Nov. 22, 1867, in Unserberg, Germany and came to this country in 1880 with her father, Andreas Moehrling, and a brother. On Feb. 3, 1885, she was married to Christ Schmicker at Burlington. She was the second-oldest member of the First Evangelical & Reformed church, and the oldest member of the Ladies Aid. She also belonged to the Women's Relief Corps, Royal Neighbors and Degree of Honor. Survivors include three sons, Frank Schmicker, San Francisco, Calif., and Milton and William of Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Anderson, Danville; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Her husband and three sons are dead. Funeral services will be held at the First Evangelical & Reformed church at a time to be announced. The body is at Wallen's Chapel where friends may call.
