Obituary
Andrew J. Wahl, a resident of Burlington for 43 years, died at St. Francis hospital last night at 8:30 o'clock following a two years illness. He was taken to the hospital Thursday evening when he took a decided turn for the worse. he was 63 years old. Mr. Wahl was employed by the Murray Iron Works foundry as an iron moulder and worked there for 40 years, retiring two years ago on account of his health. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, of the Iron Moulders Union and attended the Messiah Lutheran church. He was born in Sweden May 3, 1862, and came with his mother to this country and direct to Burlington in 1882. He was married to Mathilda Peterson in 1882 who passed away in 1916. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John A. Meth, of Burlington, ,and four grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. W.F. Hoffman, preceded him in death three years ago. Funeral services will be held from the Meth home, 508 South Gertrude street, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. W.R. Bergh, of the Messiah Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
