Obituary

Edward Wagner, 1802 Mt. Pleasant street, died at his home this morning at 10:45 o'clock. He had been ill since Friday and in failing health for several months. He was born in Burlington, Nov. 1, 1859 the son of Charles and Walburga Wagner. On Feb. 14, 1883, he was united in marriage to Louise Bauer who preceded him in death. Mr. Wagner was a Burlington Route veteran. he retired 19 years ago; at the time of his retirement having served 25 years as foreman of the C.B. and Q. blacksmith shop at LaCrosse, Wis. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of West Burlington; a member of the A.O.,U.W. and of the Railroad Veterans. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Walter Schmidt of Lakeland, Fla., Mrs. H.W. Schafer of Burlington; one son, Frederick E. Wagner of Mendota, ill., 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One son, Edwin, preceded him in death. The body is at Prugh's chapel. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
