Funeral services for Christian G. Biklen, 72, retired farmer, who died at Burlington hospital yesterday morning will be held at Unterkircher’s funeral home at 3 o’clock Friday. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Biklen had been a patient at the hospital for three weeks and underwent an operation two months ago.
He was born at Unterheim, Germany, October 26, 1860, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian H. Biklen. Coming to this country with his parents when he was about a year old, he spent most of his life in this county. He lived on a farm four miles south of Burlington on Madison road for many years.
His marriage to Louisa Xeller, who died 13 years ago, took place in 1882. Shortly after Mrs. Biklen’s death Mr. Biklen retired and came to Burlington. His home was at 319 Division Street. He attended St. Luke’s Evangelical church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Carl Schweickhardt and Mrs. Charles Wedertz, and three grandchildren, Maxine and Muriel Alley, and Bernice Meyers. A daughter, Mrs. Truman Alley died eight years ago.
