Marie Eisenhart Wagner, 99, of 1312 Hillary St., died at 5:58 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 1992 at Burlington Medical Center. Born July 23, 1892, in Sheldon, she was the daughter of Albert G. and Bessie Pottinger Eisenhart. She married Glen DeVere Wagner July 15, 1914, in Burlington. He died April 4, 1972. She was a school teacher for the Burlington school system before retiring. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church and its women's council and the Congregators. She was active in the Red Cross before World War II and served on the Red Cross Board during World War II. She was a member of the AARP, the Burlington Women's Club, Widows of World War I and the American Legion Auxiliary and was a 60-year member of the Iowa Study Club and an 80-year member of the Mary Salter Guild. Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor Murphy of Burlington; three grandsons, three great-granddaughters, two great-great-grandsons, three nieces, a nephew and several great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Wagner will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church with the Rev. William Trump officiating. Burial will be in the Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the First Congregational Church.
