Obituary
Chas. Wagg, who for over fifty years resided in this city and the best part of that time officiated as janitor of the Hibernia school passed away yesterday, in Waterloo, Iowa, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Blatt. The deceased has been visiting his daughter in Waterloo, for over a year and the news of his death will be a sad surprise to his many friends here. Mr. Wagg just lacked four months of being eighty years of age. He came to this city about fifty years ago and during almost the entire period of his residence here lived in Hibernia, in the vicinity of the Hibernia school. He was a kindly old man and was well beloved by the children who attended the school. Many of them now have children of thier own, but they will always cherish a kind remembrance of the janitor, to whom they were indebted for many favors during their school days. several years ago on account of his declining years Mr. Wagg resigned his position as janitor and since that time has been living with his children of whom six survive him. They are Thos. Wagg, of this city; Mrs. Rosa Siebert, Mrs. Harris, Charles and Mattie, all of Albuquerque, N.M. and Mrs. John Blott, of Waterloo. The remains will be brought to this city and the funeral will take place from Unterkircher's chapel, to-morrow afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock.
