Obituary
Death of a six weeks old baby by suffocation, Jan. 19, previously unreported to news men, was announced today by Coroner Robert Giles. The baby was Dale K. Young, son of Mrs. Violet Young, 564 S. Central avenue, according to Giles report. The Unterkircher funeral home took care of the case, burying the child in Aspen Grove cemetery Jan. 20. At the funeral home, where officials were asked about the death today said "the family wanted it left out of the paper, so it was not reported." Mrs. young was not at home today, it was reported at the Central avenue address where she has an apartment. Police said they received no report of the suffocation, and the coroner, who had been notified of the case by the funeral home, said he presumed news men would be told of the death through the usual channel-the undertaking firm. Coroner Giles said his investigation showed the baby was found dead in bed between 3 and 4 a.m. Jan. 19. No inquest was held, the coroner;s investigation indicating accident. A physician called to the house, reported today the infant had been dead two or three hours when he arrived at the home. Death certificates are filed with the city registrar of vital statistics and eventually are forwarded to the vital statistics division of the state department of health. The coroner's report shows the baby was born Nov. 5, 1938 and sets out that the baby came to his death by suffocation, without listing particulars.
