Obituary
John Young, veteran Burlington cigarmaker, died in Burlington hospital Sunday evening at 6:25 o'clock after two weeks illness. Mr. Young has been in the cigar and tobacco business at 1308 North Eighth street where he also made his home, for more than forty years. He was born in Burlington, Aug. 1, 1868 and was married June 24, 1896, to Miss Minnie Jacquinet, who survives him. He was a member of Zion Evangelical church, the fraternal Order of Eagles and the Hawkeye Native society. Besides his widow he is survived by a son, Norman Young, of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. John Harrison, of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Anderson of Burlington and Mrs. Anna Mosena of Ottumwa; and a brother, Peter Young of Burlington. Funeral services will be held in Zion church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock preceded by private services at the residence at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. A. Koeling will preside and burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery The body will be taken to the residence from Burnett-Wallen's funeral home alt this afternoon.
