Obituary
Mrs. N.S. Young, 89, prominent resident of Burlington for many years, passed away yesterday at Chicago, Ill., where she had made her home with her children for the past five years, according to word received here. The Young home was at Seventh and Spruce streets and this was her residence for more than a half century. Her husband, the late N.S. Young, died in 1913. He was a railroad contractor, and was in charge of building much of the main line of the Burlington between Chicago and this city. Mrs. Young was born in Mainz Germany, May 11, 1846 and came to this country and to Burlington as a girl. Surviving are six children: Mrs. Heaney of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Osweld of Chicago; Will H. Young of Corpus Christie, Tex.; Earl H. and A.L.R. Young of Chicago, and Mary C. Young of New York. One son George, preceded her in death. Mrs. Sarah Newell, who resides at the King's Daughters' Old People's home here, is a sister. The body will be brought here for burial at a time to be announced later.
