Obituary
The body of Ted Yohe, 42-year-old Lenox Park resident, which was found with a bullet through the heart last evening will be buried in Aspen Grove cemetery, following funeral services in Prugh's chapel at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Yohe had apparently killed himself sometime Sunday night after calling his step-daughter, Mrs. Verna Osborn of Chicago over long distance telephone informing her of his intention to commit suicide. The body was not found until Mrs. Osborn accompanied by Roy Jennings and his father, Carl Jennings, came here last evening hoping to arrive in time to dissuade Yohe from taking his life. When they failed to find anyone in the house they went to a nearby shed which they found locked from the inside. They effected an entrance and found Yohe sitting inside dead. Despondency over the loss of his wife, who died May 9, of the year, and over unemployment, was evidently the cause of the suicide as Mr. Yohe left a note citing these causes. He was employed at the Basket factory for three years up to June, but has been laid off since that time. he had threatened suicide several times and in a long conversation with Mrs. Osborn over the telephone about 9:00 o'clock Sunday night he said he had definitely made up his mind to kill himself. She begged him not to carry out his threat and promised to come to Burlington Monday. She and the Jennings arrived here about 5 p.m. and soon afterwards found the body. Neighbors reported hearing the report of a gun Sunday night but considered it of no importance. Besides his stepdaughter Mr. Yohe is survived by a stepson, Harry LaHee of Burlington and a brother and sister, whose whereabouts are unknown. He was born in Illinois, November 1, 1889, and has lived in Burlington for eight years.
