Mary Lou Yedlik, 91, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died at home on Thursday morning, February 14, 2013.
Born on July 16, 1921 in Kingston, Iowa, she was the daughter of John Peter and Wilhelmina Johanna "Minnie" Koch Rice. She married Robert W. Yedlik on September 12, 1947 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on July 20, 1999. Mary Lou worked at I.A.A.P. and later as a waitress. She was a homemaker and enjoyed casinos, TV soap operas and home life. She is survived by one son, Charles E. Brown of Alexandria, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Joan (Martin) Walsh of Fairfield, Ohio and Wendy Tracy of Hugo, Minnesota; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Danielle Tracy; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; four brothers, Johnny, Edward, Ralph and Harold; eleven sisters, Esther, Rosa, Katie, Hattie, Lena, Nellie, Grace, Edna, Mabel, Hazel and Ruby. Funeral services for Mary Lou Yedlik will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Prugh's Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor JudyAnn Morse will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. in Prugh's Chapel.
