William L. Yates, 49, 218 West Burlington Ave., West Burlington, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Memorial hospital. He was born July 5, 1923, in West Burlington, the son of Samuel and Nellie Ellis Yates. He was married to Mable Hanson. He was a retired Air Force sergeant and a member of the American Legion. Surviving: One daughter, Mary Yates, at home; his mother, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Clara) Esposito, East Moline, Ill., Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Feldman, Moline, Ill. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Prugh's Chapel, Rev. Paul Penniington; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established.
