Obituary
Mrs. Louise Emily Zurawski, 71, widow of John Paul Zurawski, and a resident of Burlington for the past 33 years, passed away at her home, 1209 North Sixth street, at 12:45 o'clock this morning, after an illness of only a few days. Born at Marienburg, Prussia, Germany, on Jan. 17, 1862, she was the daughter of Marie and August Sallach, and when 17 years of age she and her parents came to this country and settled on a farm in Plymouth county, near Le Mars, Ia. It was here that she married John Paul Zurawski, formerly head of the Burlington Paper Co., who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1924. They moved to Burlington in 1900, which has since been her home. She is survived by the following children, Helen Marie, Arnold Ernest, Mrs. Elizabeth Luthy and Mrs. Florence Bauman, all of Burlington, and R. Arthur, of San Antonio, Tex. Mrs. Zurawski was a member of the Evangelical church, being the first president of the Ladies' Aid society, and was always an active church worker until ill health forced her to give up such work. Funeral services have not been completed, awaiting word from out-of-town relatives.
