Berthold "Bert" Zitner, 82, of 119 Concord Dr., died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center. Born May 27, 1906, in Germany, he was the son of Robert and Otille Keller Zitner. He married Frances M. Schmidt Dec. 3, 1948, at Burlington. He moved to Duluth, Minn., then to Milwaukee, Wis., where he lived until he retired. He worked for Globe Union in Milwaukee, Wis. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church, the Burlington Kiwanis Club, AARP and YMCA. Survigin are his wife; one sister, Martha Smither, California, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mr. Zitner will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Chris Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Bethany Lutheran Church.
