Herman Zimmerman, former superintendent of the Burlington railroad between Burlington and St. Louis, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter in Havelock, Nebraska. Mr. Zimmerman was a resident of Burlington for many years. He was transferred to Hannibal, Mo., several years ago where he continued in the service of the railroad until he was placed on the retired list a few years ago. he was a native of Switzerland and had been engaged in the service of the Burlington route during all the years of his residence in this country. He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Leslie Miller of Havelock, Neb., Theresa at home, and one son, Herman Zimmerman, of Biloxi, Miss. Funeral services will be held this afternoon in Havelock and the remains will be brought to Burlington Friday afternoon for interment in the family lot in Aspen Grove cemetery.
