Obituary

Linda Kay Chatfield, 72, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior at 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2013 at Elkhart General Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Linda was born to George E. and Erma J. (Adams) Manley on July 13, 1941 in Burlington, Iowa.

On Nov. 7, 1968, she married Richard Chatfield in Montrose, Iowa. He survives, along with a daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Hinman of Elkhart, Ind.; sons Jeff (Shelly) Gall of Aurora, Iowa and Mike (Maureen) Gall of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are stepdaughter Sherrie (Vince) Urban of Troy, Ill.; stepson Richard (Janice) Chatfield of Bee Spring, Kent.; a sister, Wendy Connor and her special friend, Joe Stone, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are a son, Brian Martin Gall, and her parents.

Linda was a Deputy Treasurer for Lee County, Iowa prior to moving to Elkhart after her retirement in 1996.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, 10:00 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
