Services for 91-year Mr. Gustave Adolph Zaiss of 1111 Doemland St., who died in St. Francis hospital at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, will be conducted by the Rev. John H. Schultz, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, at the Prugh Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Apsen Grove cemetery. Mr. Zaiss retired in 1952 after serving as a machine operator for Northwestern Cabinet Co. for 27 years. He was the son of Christof and Pauline Gugeler Zaiss, and was born in Des Moines county on March 27, 1874. He was married to the late Rose Long in Burlington on June 26, 1900. Mr. Zaiss was a member of Zion church and of the Modern Woodmen of America. He is survived by a son and two daughters: Arthur F. Zaiss and Mrs. Marie Browne, both of Burlington, and Mrs. Margaret Geffers of Galesurg, Ill; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
