Amiel Zaiss, 74, retired boilermaker for the Rock Island railroad and former Burlington resident, died Friday morning at 9:55 a.m. while visiting at the home of his niece, Mrs. Robert Stinson, San Diego, Calif. He was born in Burlington August 10, 1882, the son of Chris and Mary Siegle Zaiss. His wife Emelia is dead. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, the Turner Society and the Moose and Eagles lodge, all of Moline,Il. where her formerly lived. Surviving are 2 sons, W.F. Zaiss and Carl E. Zaiss of Normal, Ill; 2 sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Kester and Mamie Peterson of Pasadena, Calif; 3 brothers, Gus Zaiss and Chris Peterson of Burlington, and Pete Peterson of Mount Pleasant; 4 nieces and 3 nephews; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The body will be brought to Prugh's chapel, where services will be held at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.l
