Jacob (Jake) F. Zaiser, 88, resident of Burlington nearly all his life, died at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at Burlington hospital after an illness of 13 weeks. Born at Stuttgart, Germany, March 31, 1957, he came to Burlington when 8 years of age with his family. On April 11, 1882, at Burlington, he was united in marriage with Amelia Hippe, who died March 28, 1939. For about 10 years, until he retired because an injury 8 years ago, he was a toll collector on MacArthur bridge. He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical and Reformed church. Surviving are 2 son. George and Charles Zaiser, Burlington; 4 daughters, Mrs. Emma Diehl, Agnes Zaiser, and Mrs. A.J. Champagne, Burlington, and Mrs. Adam Westerbeck, New London; 9 grandchildren; on great-grand-child; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ricka Buesch and Mrs. Christina Dehner, Burllington. Three brothers and 3 sisters are dead. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Burnett-Wallen Funeral home with Rev. Charles Schwantes officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
