Obituary
Alexander Easton died at 5 o'clock this morning, at the home of his son, R. M. Easton, three miles north of West Burlington, in his 76th year. His Wife and one son and two daughters have gone before him, and five sons survive him. Mr. Easton came to Jefferson county, Iowa, in 1863, after having lived for a number of years in Clinton county, Pennsylvania. he was born in Ayers, Scotland, and came to America at the age of 17 years. Two of his sons reside in Kansas, and two in Wapello county, Iowa. Death was caused by asthma, an la grippe. Mr. Easton was a staunch Christian, and a member of the Methodist church for more than forty years. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon, at 2:30 at his son's residence. The burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery at 3:30.
