Mrs. Sarah L. Bloom, 85, native of Sweden but a resident of Burlington 66 years, died at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ernest C. Youngstrom 838 South Leebrick Street, where she had been making her home. She had been ill for ten months.
Sarah L. Nelson was born in Oskarshamn, Sweden, on August 1, 1848, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels P. Nelson, coming to Burlington as a young woman. She was married here on September 2, 1873, to C.M. Bloom who died in 1912. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Besides her daughter, Mrs. Younstrom, Mrs. Bloom is survived by two sons, Victor Bloom and Oscar Bloom, and four grandchildren, Ralph, Marian, and Marjorie Youngstrom, and Edith Bloom.
Funeral services will be held in the Burnett-Wallen funeral home tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
