Funeral March 28, 1:30 pm
The West Burlington correspondence of the Burlington Hawkeye contained the following mortuary notice yesterday:
It is with feelings of regret that we have to chronicle the death of Mrs. Margaret Bloom, wife of PC Bloom, residing on Ballard Street. Her death occurred last evening about 7:20, and while her condition was considered serious, her sudden end was not expected so soon. The deceased was born in Sherbeck, Denmark, Nov. 26, 1860, and while quite young came to this country. In May, 1885, she was united in marriage to Mr. PC Bloom, and to the union were born six children, two of whom have died and the remaining being at home. These are Helen, Clifton, Florence, and Leslie who mourn a kind and devoted wife, a loving and affectionate mother. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. M. Sorenson of Monmouth, Ill. The death of this estimable lady will cause many a heartache in West Burling, as she was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to the sick and afflicted., was one of the best wives, and kindest of mothers. She was a member of the Rathbone Sisters and Degree of Honor.
