Obituary
Mrs E.B. Lloyd, one of the city's old and highly respected residents, passed away at 7 o'clock last evening after many weary months of suffering, which she bore with Christian fortitude. Emily Brandebury was born in Shippenburg, Pa., December 1, 1839, the daughter of James S. and Isabelle Brandebury, and came to this city in 1849. In 1855 she became the wife of John Lloyd, who left her a widow at the age of twenty-two. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church, a devoted mother, a woman who lived her religion and never wearied of good works. She is survived by two sons; John M. Lloyd, chief clerk at the Burlington route freight house, and James H. Lloyd, night clerk at the same place. She leaves no other near relatives, and was the last member of her family, two brothers and two sisters having passed away within the past four years. The funeral will take place Monday afternoon from the family home, No. 543 South Central avenue. Many young and old friends will pay the last honors to this good woman.
