Mrs. Louisa Bloom, 77, 107 S. Starr Avenue, died at Burlington hospital Saturday afternoon after an illness of several years. She was admitted to the hospital 9 weeks ago.
A native of Sweden, she was born Oct. 16, 1864, and came to America when she was 17 years old, living in Burlington since that time. She was united in marriage to Charles Bloom on May 22, 1890. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Swedish Methodist church and of the Ladies' Aid of that church.
Surviving are a son, WL Bloom, Burlington. And a daughter, Mrs. ER Peterson, of Chester, Neb.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mabel.
Funeral services will be held in the Swedish Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock preceded by short services in the residence of her son, 107 St. Starr Ave., at 1:30. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body was taken to the Bloom home from Prugh's chapel this afternoon.
