Mrs. Twila Curtis, 81, Burlington Rt. 3, died at 1:09 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Bethesda Care Center, Mediapolis. She was born July 8, 1904, in Franklin County, to William Henry and Alice Esther Edwards Fox. She married Estel Curtis in 1945; he died Aug. 22, 1951. Mrs. Curtis was receptionist in the offices of Dr. Boyd Ditto and Dr. Robert Rowley for many years. She was a volunteer for Des Moines County Cancer Society and the Burlington Humane Society for many years. She attended St. John United Church of Christ. Surviving: A sister, Edna Morehead, Wapello. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lunning Chapel, the Rev. Duane Cavins; Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial to St. John Church has been established.
