Estol Allen Curtis, 52, 832 N. Fifth street, died early Wednesday at his home after a 5-week illness. He was born at Sabina, Ill., March 29, 1899, Coning to Des Moines county from Ft. Madison in 1942, he married Twila McDaniel at Galesburg, May 26, 1945. He taught for a time in West Burlington schools and was principal there from 1942 to1949. After leaving the teaching profession, he operated a farm near Morning Sun. He was an active member of the Production Marketing administration and an officer of that group, a member of First Methodist church, and a member of the American Legion and Odd fellows at Ft Madison. Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Lucille, Houston, Tex., a foster daughter, M.rs. Howard Inbody, Jamaica, Ia.; 4 brothers, Ethan, St. Louis, Mo., Chester, Batavia, Lawrence, Waterloo, and Leonard, Fairfield; 2 sisters, Mrs. Harry McNeil, Agency and Mrs. William Hutton, Brecksville, O., and his mother, Mrs. Ada Curtis, Batavia. the body is at the Burnett Wallen funeral home.
