Carl Wallin Bloom, 89, 1428 Washington, was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial hospital Thursday, April 27.
He was born March 27, 1883, in West Burlington. He married Edna E. Johnson in Burlington Sept. 23, 1902. She died April 5, 1944. Mr. Bloom was a retired turbine erector for Murray Iron Works.
Surviving; One son, Dr. AC Bloom, Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. RA Dorner, Des Moines; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maude Bloomberg, West Burlington; six nieces.
Funeral services for Mr. Bloom, will be held in Messiah Lutheran Church Monday afternoon at 2:00. The body will be taken to the church Monday morning at 10:00 to lie in state until time for the services. Rev. Mr. Clyde L. Norrgard will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Prugh’s Sunday afternoon and evening.
