Mrs. Christina Blomberg, 78, wife of John L. Blomberg, died at her home, 513 Hageman Avenue, at 7:30 last night after an illness of 11 weeks. She had been a resident of Burlington for 54 years.
Mrs. Blomberg was born in Norrahy, Varmland, Sweden, January 22, 1853, and came to this country in July 1876. She had lived here since that time. On June 14, 1877, she was married in Burlington to Mr. Blomberg, who survives. She was one of the oldest members of the Messiah Lutheran church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Blomberg is survived by, Mrs. Laura Anderson of Burlington; one son, Fingal P. Blomberg of West Burlington; two grandchildren, and one brother, Olaf Pierson of Sweden. Two daughters and one son preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the time with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be at the Burnett-Wallen funeral home until 9 o’clock Friday morning.
