Mrs. Anna M. Dankwardt, 88, widow of Albert C. Dankwardt, died at 2:55 o'clock this afternoon in Mercy Hospital, after one week's illness. She had been in Burlington 74 years and was a resident of Sunnyside avenue for 50 years. Anna Fritz was born in Germany, May 21, 1840, and married September 10, 1863 to Albert m. Dankwardt who preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church and of the Rosary society of St. Paul's church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. C.J. Binder of Burlington, Mrs. Emma Howell of San Diego, Calif.,, Mrs. Elbert Smith, Mrs. Isaac Reid and Mrs. Frank Kuechen of Burlington; four sons, O.J. Dankwardt of Washington, IA, Herman and Adolph, of Burlington and Walter of Argyle, IA; twenty grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Sam Shepherd of Burlington, and Mrs. Christiana Schmidt of Mt. Pleasant, and one brother Jake Fritz of Mt. Pleasant, also survive. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
