Herman Simon Dankwardt, 86, 1801 Roosevelt, died at 1:22 a.m. Wednesday in Mercy hospital. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic church, preceded by brief family prayers at 8:45 a.m. at Wallen's chapel. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Dankwardt was born Nov. 16, 1873, in Burlington, the son of Paul A. and Ann Fritz Dankwardt and was married Feb 19, 1901, in Burlington to Mary McInerny, who died April 15, 1956. He had worked for 32 years as a storehouse supply man at the Burlington railroad shops, and had retired 24 years ago. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church. Surviving are a son, Ralph, of Burlington, a daughter, Estella Dankwardt, Burlington; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Flora Kuechen, Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Irvin, died in 1954. Three brothers and four sisters are dead,
