Obituary
Mrs. Mary J. Dankwardt, passed away at the fmily home, No. 319 South Seventh street, at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She had been in poor health for some time, and her death was not unexpected, and all the children were at her bedside when the end came. Mary J. Miller was the was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Miller and was born in this county September 21, 1849, and has always been a resident of this city and county. On February 19, 1867, she was united in marriage with E.T.Dankwardt, who was one of Burlington's well known successful business men and who preceded her seven months ago. The happy union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive the parents: Mrs. Clara C. Hartmann, residing on the Agency road, west of the city; A. Theodore, Nathan E. and Lydia J., residing at home. Mrs. Dankwardt was a good woman and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her, and her friends were many. She possessed a sweet and lovable disposition, and in her home she was supreme in the mild and loving way in which she managed her household duties, and with her winning nature she was a blessing to all those around her. Her death comes as a deep sorrow to every one who knew her, and their sympathy goes out to the family in this sad bereavement. Announcement of the funeral will be made later.
