Mrs. Dolores Bergere Leopold, 59, of 110 Grand, wife of Carl Starker Leopold, chairman of the board and treasurer of the Leopold Desk Co., died at her home at 4 p.m. Thursday. she had been ill for a year. Mrs. Leopold, socially prominent and active in aid work, was born Jan. 16, 1897 in Santa Fe, N. Mex., the daughter of Alfred and Eloisa Luna Bergere. Julyy 1, 1920, she married Carl S. Leopold at Santa Fe. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic church, King's Daughters and was president of the Mercy hospital Aid group and St. Paul's Altar & Rosary society. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Charles O. Fredericks, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; Mrs. john L. Collins, jr., Burlington, and Mrs. Barnett A. Smith, Fairfield; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Manuel B. Otero, Albuquerque, N. Mex., and Joseph Charles Bergere, Santa Fe; six sisters, Mrs. Aldo Leopold, Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Nina Otero Warren, Anita Bergere, Mrs. John J. Kenny, Mrs. Robert O. Brown and Mrs. Herbert Mendenhall, all of Santa Fe, also a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held in St. Paul's Catholic church Saturday at 9 a.m. The cortege will leave Prugh's chapel at 8:50. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The rosary will be recited in Prugh's chapel Friday at 7;30 p.m. The family suggested that those wishing to memoralize Mrs. Leopold, send remembrances to Mercy hospital memorial fund or the American Cancer society.
