Mrs. Eliza Ann Bliss, 72-year-old life resident of Des Moines County, died early Tuesday morning at her home on Burlington route 3 after a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1879, at Pleasant Grove, the daughter of Joseph and Harriet Sheppard, and was married Oct. 24, 1899, at Cedar Rapids to Cecil H. Bliss. Mrs. Bliss was a member of the Christian faith.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Blondal, Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. Alta Dalton and Mrs. Ellen Dracht, both of Burlington; four sons, Edward, Lyman and Richard Bliss, all of Burlington, and Clarence Bliss, Kenosha, Wis. A son and daughter are dead. Fifteen grandchildren also survive.
Services will be at 1:30 Friday in Giles funeral home. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
