Francene "Fran" A. Caryl, 56, of Burlington, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at her home. Born May 8,1948, in Ottumwa, she was the daughter of Alfred and Frances Keller Clambers. On May 21,1966, she married William "Bill" Caryl in Ottumwa. Mrs. Caryl worked as a production operator at the low Army Ammunition Plant/American Ordnance for 15 years. She was a 1966 graduate of Ottumwa High School. She was a member of West Hill United Methodist Church in Burlington. She enjoyed speed Scrabble, playing cards, bowling and traveling. Survivors Include her husband; two sons, Dan Caryl of Mesa, Am., and Shawn Caryl of Wichita, Kan.; one grandson; and brother, Don Chambers of Blakesburg; two sisters, Theanell "Nell" Morrow of New Windsor, Ill., and Lois "Lou" Walker of Westminster, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Limning Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The body has been. A memorial service for Mrs. Carl I will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in West Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Porter officiating. Memorials have been established for Great River HoHospice and PAW Animal Shelter in Fort Madison.
