Marcus Theodore (Mark) Blaul, 89, died in St. Francis Continuation Care Center at 7:45 am Wednesday, April 14, following a long illness.
He was born Feb. 15, 1887, in Burlington, the son of John L. and Louise Dewain Blaul. He married Laura C. Slingluff in Burlington June 20, 1911; she died Jan. 4, 1973.
He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Masonic lodge, United Commercial Travelers, Chamber of Commerce, and BPOE.
He was a for many years president and board member of Aspen Grove Cemetery Assn. and was also president and board member of Farmers & Merchants Bank & Trust. He was active in community affairs for many years.
Surviving; Son, John M., Sunnyvale, Calif.; three daughters, Alice Hahn, Vienna, Va., Catherine Liebendorfer, Stanford, Calif., and Virginia McCammon, Felton, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Rev. Alvin F. Volle will conduct a committal service in Aspen Grove cemetery at 10:30 Friday. A memorial to st. Francis Continuation Care Center has been established at Prugh’s Chapel.
