Fannie Thompson, 52, of Burlington, died at 7:25 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Great River Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington. Born December 9, 1955, in Sunflower, Miss., she was the daughter of John Sidney and Lorenda Jones Williams, Sr. Ms. Thompson worked in hotel housekeeping. She was affiliated with Faithful Witness Ministry. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing spades and watching scary movies. Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Mithchell and Ashante Thompson, both of Moline, Ill.; one son Joshua Williams of Burlington; her mother; five sisters, Lula Rainey of Detroit, Bobie Jean of Kansas City, MO, and Cindy Jones, Stacie Williams and Betty Pearson, all of Burlington; two brothers, John Williams, Jr. and Tracy Williams, both of Burlington; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The funeral for Ms. Thompson will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Charles Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
