Mrs. Charles Blaul, a former prominent resident of Burlington died Dec. 6 in Pasadena, California, according to word received here.
Her husband, who died Dec 3, 1924, was an official in the John Blaul company. After his death, Mrs. Blaul moved to Winnetka, Ill., to make her home with a daughter and in 1935 went to Pasadena.
Mrs. Blaul, the daughter of Levia and Jane Dickenson Stephens, was born on a farm near Wapello which has been in the family since the time of the original government grant. It still is owned by Mrs. Blaul and her daughter, Mrs. NL Howard. Mrs. Blaul was educated in Washington, Ia., and taught school before her marriage Oct. 20, 1886.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Howard of Winnetka, Ill., and several nieces.
Committal services for Mrs. Charles Blaul, who passed away December 6, 1951, at Pasadena, Calif., will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Friday afternoon at 3:30. The cortege will leave Prugh’s Chapel at 3:20. The body will arrive in Burlington early Friday morning.
