Obituary

Mrs. Nancy M. Blake, widow of the late Melville E. Blake, died this morning at 4:30 at the Burlington hospital. Three weeks ago she was taken to the hospital where an operation was performed for appendicitis. The disease had, however, made such progress that all efforts to save her life were unavailing.
The deceased was born November 1, 1856, in Henderson County, Illinois. She untied in marriage to Melville E. Blake and came to Burlington to make her home, thirty years ago. She united with the United PResbyteria church early in .ife and was an earnest Christian. In the home life, she was an ideal mother, and her sweet disposition and Christian character were admired by all. Mr. Blake preceded her to the grave several years ago. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Dr. Jewell of Burlington; Henry Y. Blake, of Mexico City, Mexico; Myra Blake, a teacher in the Burlington high school; Will G. Blake, a farmer in Nebraska; Melville E. Blake and Ruth Blake, a student in the high school.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock from the residence 113 South Woodlawn avenue.
