Floyd R. Morgan, 850 Arch street, a member of the office force of the Peoples Gas and Electric company, died last evening at 5:30 in the Burlington hospital, following an operation for appendicitis. He became ill last Tuesday night and entered the hospital Wednesday morning. His critical condition made an operation necessary yesterday at noon, but to no avail. Mr. Morgan was a life long resident of Burlington. He was born February 25, 1892, and was a son of Edward D. Morgan, with whom he made his home. He never married and besides his father leaves five brothers and sisters, who are: Mrs. Roland Jones of Le Mars, ia.; Clyde F. Morgan of Lafayette, Ind.; Harold E. Morgan and Mrs. Lucy Bates of Burlington, and Charles Morgan of Des Moines. He was active in fraternal circles and was a thirty-second degree Mason, being a member of Malta Lodge 318, A.F. and A.M. and the Davenport consistory. He was also a member of the Kaable temple of Mystic Shrine at Davenport and the Murad Grotto of Burlington, and was secretary of the Burlington lodge of Mystic Workers. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with services in charge of Malta Lodge of Masons.
