Mary Lee Cecil, 85, of Burlington, died at 6:45 am Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born July 12, 1929, in Moline, IL, she was the daughter of Lee and Mary Hoskins Erzinger. On June 6, 1948, she married Donald Cecil in Milton, IA. He died June 2, 1986.
Mary worked for the Burlington School System and later at a hospital in Amarillo, TX.
She was a graduate of Milton High School.
She loved to read and enjoyed time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved animals.
Survivors include one son, Michael Cecil of Lake Saint Louis, MO; one daughter, Peggy Burkett of Burlington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Thielen Crematory.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
